Quiet Love

Do you ever have a person in your life that you don’t really rely on for much?  But they are always there.  They are the person that doesn’t need to stand out, that doesn’t need all the attention in the room.  They don’t need to get the credit.  They do what is good just because it is the right thing to do.  Day in and day out they are steady.  I have a person like that in my life.

A few years ago our family went through a crisis.  When that occurred, he was there for us.  He gave my children his work phone number and his cell phone number.  He made sure they knew he loved him and that if they needed him he would be there for them.  Which gave my children comfort in a time of crisis.  And more than that he prayed for them.  He prayed for all of us.

My children have always loved him.  When they were young they would get excited to see him because he would get on their level and play with them.  Some of the games they enjoyed are Nerf wars, tag (Ghost in the Graveyard), and computer games.  And now that they are teens and pre-teen, they still enjoy spending time with him.  They now especially enjoy playing board games, X-Box games and watching movies.
